(Beijing, January 22) In the women's 53kg class of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 International Weightlifting Invitational Tournament held today, China's Wang Mingjuan claimed the gold medal with a two-lift total of 205kg. Wang's teammate Cen Lijuan took the silver with 201.

In the women's 53kg group B contest this morning, China had three lifters at the top of the list: Xiong Li with 200kg, Wang Chengyan with 185 and He Yunhua with 180.

The group A fought in the afternoon. In the snatch, Cen Lijuan lifted 90kg in her third attempt while Wang Mingjuan made it with 92kg. The starting weights for them in the clean & jerk were 100kg and 105kg respectively and they lifted 111 and 113 in their final attempts tandem.

According to tournament rules, the results of group B would not count in the rankings and thus Cheleephay Suda of Thailand took the bronze medal with a total of 200kg.
